RECENT TRIAL WORK / RECENT SEMINARS
Pietro Lynn provided instruction to Field Training Officers on legal liability issues in connection with FTO certification at the Vermont Police Academy. He will also be teaching a course for the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council on effective drafting of policies and procedures for law enforcement agencies.
Pietro Lynn has held seminars for the various departments of the Vermont Sheriffs Association on issues ranging from sexual harassment, to recent developments in constitutional and criminal law, to minimizing civil exposure through effective report writing.
Pietro Lynn provided sexual harassment and general employment law trainings to all supervisors and managers at Norwich University. The trainings focused on a practical approach to hiring, evaluation, termination and administration of policies.
Mr. Lynn also speaks frequently about the defense of traumatic brain injury claims. He has provided training on these specialized and unique claims to Acadia Insurance Company, CNA Insurance Companies and The Vermont Claims Association.
Heather Thomas Lynn presented to over 30 Vermont school administrators on issues pertaining to student/peer sexual harassment. The training focused on the nuts and bolts of responding to and investigating student harassment complaints, with an eye toward minimizing the schools’ liability in the event of future litigation.
This training, held in May of 2006 was followed up with another held on August 24, 2006, to over 250 teachers, administrators and other school personnel for the same Supervisory Union again on the legal issues raised by Vermont's bullying/harassment laws. Ms. Lynn continues to present similar trainings on this issue around the state with several held during the fall of 2006 before the Wells Village School and Richford High School teachers and administrators and continuing into the winter of 2007, the most recent before the staff and teachers of BFA Fairfax.
Lynn, Lynn & Blackman is proud to announce the publication of PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURIES AT TRIAL. The book is published by the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. Pietro Lynn authored a chapter in the book entitled “Defending Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Claims Through Discovery.”
Mr. Lynn has also been asked to contribute a chapter to the latest edition of COPING WITH PSYCHIATRIC AND PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTIMONY, which will be published by the Oxford University Press.
